Life is sometimes tough ...

For many homeless and vulnerable people, SCDT offers a home when they have no other place to go to and support when they have no-one else to turn to.Residents at The Crescent

We offer a "safe haven", where they receive support from our staff. While they are living in SCDT flats or shared houses, we work with them on their problems, try and find solutions so that, in time, they will be able to move on and live more independently.

SCDT has helped over 14,000 people since 1972. We are able to give them short or long-term support, whatever suits their needs. We support them through crises and difficulties, helping them gain the tools enable them to get through difficult times when they are living independently.

"24/7 misery back to normality", as one resident described his life-changing experience.

We encourage people to get back to work or continue their education. Many of them need to establish a "normal" routine. Many volunteer in their local charity shops, helping other people and taking their first steps back into a working environment. Some residents take writing, IT or art courses to help them improve their social skills and to give them a challenge to achieve their personal goals.

This year, we are taking on several building projects to provide more good-quality homes for people in need. Can you help us?
